While I'm not a fan of SFB Gorns (I thought the stock KA/SFC Gorn was more alien in design than the saucers and flash gordon warp engines), you've made the ship designs look less Dinner (Plates)-and-a-Flash-Gordon-Movie-esque and more realistic and nice-looking though your models. Nicely done.

Thanks, Chris (the first one lol). You know, a lot of people don't like the SFB designs. (I'm not certain, but I think that the SFB Gorn designs are actually taken from TAS. There's not any credit taken for them by the SFB designers, that I've seen.) Personally, I think that the designs are solid ship designs. They just need an "update" to their looks. Add to that, most of the models of them around were done early on in SFC, and were part of "mass produced" mods where the modelers were cranking out dozens of ships as quickly as they could. Not a lot of time spent on any one model in particular. (No offense to those early SFC pioneers at Fleetdock 13, Brezgonne, or to my friend Desty Nova. Being an SFB fan, there models have brought me more gaming enjoyment than anyone elses.) ADB also needs to keep the ships simple enough (detail wise) to make them easy to make "minis" out of them for their SFB board game. With modelers like Atolm and Major Racal (Just to mention a couple who are here.) around now though, we are finally getting some updated looks to the old (from the 70's) SFB designs. With the apparent discontent of the Enterprise era canon designs, and no new Trek designs on the horizon, maybe others will take to redoing the SFB ships as well? Atolm, I'll catch you soon.

Strangely, as Azel can confirm, I was never a big fan of the SFB designs. I found them too simplistic, and the repetitive reliance on basic, interlocking geometric shapes galled me - most probably because I prefer the aesthetics of the TMP era.
However, over the past 6 months or so, I've found a new appreciation for their simplicity. It has allowed for greater creative licence in my reinterpretation of the numerous Omega Sector races I'm still ploughing my way through. I love these Gorn designs - the Carrier with it's shuttle/fighter racks looks particularly good, and I almost wish I'd done them myself.
