Actually, the battleship from SFC2/SFC1/KA was the Yamato class - a twin hulled, four-engined monstrosity. The Kali (Mars class) was a four-engined kitbash of a Constitution with a bunch of phasers welded onto it which someone made. It was inspired by the old SFB Mars Battleship. I made my own version of it a while ago and it's posted on my site. www.universeatwar.org/drs/downloads/fed/mars_angle1.jpg

Actually, the one used in SFC2/OP was converted for use in SFC3, but the model is of poor quality in my opinion. All the stock models were. That's why there really aren't any mods left that use stock models.
But, over on Battleclinic a TOS version of the ship was made, and she's of great quality. I can't remember what version of the game she's for.
WZ, wouldn't mind seeing you slap one together real quick. :-D

Oh dear, Daihak, what have you done... Seriously though, I think I and many others have asked WZ about a possible Yamato remake many times and the outcome has always been that he hates the design and doesn't want to do one as evidenced by his quote in the second post here: 'a twin hulled, four-engined monstrosity'. I personally thought it looks okay aside from the disastrously thin saucer, seriously it's like church bread it's so thin. I still reckon with some work to the design it'd look really good, certainly at least as good as the Missouri from KA, an overblown Oberth/Miranda crossbreed.

Oberth/Miranda/Excelsior hybrid actually, Marauth (I hope it's okay to call you by a former name I'm more-fond of knowing you by.). I say Excelsior because of the profilic saucer, how rounded it is on top and flat on bottom, yet smooth and streamlined, perhaps more-so than the Oberth's saucer, I'd think.
The Yamato-class was alright and so was the Missouri-class. I'm fond of 'em because I'm fond of Klingon Academy, a game I enjoyed playing. And be it a four-engined monstrosity or some beauty with teeth, the assault phasers (I'd equate them to Ph4s in SFC1/2/OP) are a pain when you can't avoid 'em, especially if you have bad or no deflector shielding.

Technically, both the Missouri and the Yamato are ugly monstrosities. However I prefer the Mighty-MO over the Yamato (that rhymes ) because it's a slightly less idiotic design, or at least less ugly. I never liked the idea of spot-welding two identical hulls together side-by-side. It just makes the ship look ungainly and excessive. But, that's just my opinion... Besides, I've already sworn off Feds in general for the foreseeable future.
