Everyone knows how to make Fed textures and if they can't do that then they can simply rip a few maps from the countless ships already out there. Klingons, on the other hand, aren't quite as universal so they often require extra work and effort on the part of the modder. Klingon ships have always been my strong suit so I figured I would post a tutorial on how to make totally new textures from scratch. It is a lot easier than one may think so I suggest anyone who has had problems or mind-blocks when it comes to texturing the Klinks to give this a read. At the very least you can get some ideas or inspiration, not to mention the fact this can be easily modified for other races. If anyone has questions, comments, suggestions etc., feel free to post here, email or PM me, as well as any suggestions for other tutorials that might be needed. Klingon Texturing Tutorial

I could use a nice, step by step tutorial, kinda like those Dummies books, on how to make textures period.
I have Photoshop, and now want to learn how to make my own textures. It would come in handy since I want to get my Resurrection bash retextured from the ground up, but don't know the first thing about doing any textures.

Making the basic texture/aztec/panels aren't that big of a deal, depending on the ship in question anyway. The bulk of the Fed ships I have are basic colors with film grain and pixilation added. There's a bunch of tutorials out there for the more in-depth stuff.
Everything else is just lines, layers, fillers and details. If you can get the basic grid and pattern setup handled, then everything else is gravy. 'course, if you're having problems with something in particular, feel free to ask.
