This is based on Atolm's cardboard mock-up revision of FASA's Klingon D-11 One-Wing class Destroyer. The mesh is all but done, and I've started working on the textures - anyway, here's where she stands at the moment: MajorRacal

Damned good work. Few people bother with TMP ships anymore, let alone TMP Klingons.
The only thing I would suggest is to add a bit of dirt or alter the contrast so the edges of the panels are more subdued. That is, of course, if you're going for the full K'tinga style appearance.

Nice. I'm not really a fan of the one-wing, Atolm's version made it look okay, but I just find the basic idea to be kinda silly. Nice model, though it looks a bit on the low-poly side, plenty of edges visible, I assume the shots are taken wiht no smoothing of any kind?
Look forward to d/ling.

Thanks everyone. Azel - you'll have her soon. WZ - aye, the K't'inga look's what I'd like to achieve, and TMP is my favourite era. I sometimes wish the BoP had stuck more closely to the K't'inga colours, perhaps then we wouldn't have the bright green and red neon monsters of TNG, but that's personal taste. Dirt and weathering still to follow but I'm still working on the underside and flanks at the moment. Any and all suggestions or hints are welcome. S33K100 - Yeah, I agree about the original D-11 design, it didn't come across well, but I think it was a brave concept as asymmetrical designs are so few and far between, and good ones are even more rare. To that end I think Azel has made it massively more appealing and succeeded where FASA originally didn't quite make the mark. The model is fairly low poly with less than 3500 at this point (I know I can trim off a few more.) You're also right that there's no smoothing anywhere on this mesh at this point in time. MajorRacal

Unique and much more appealing than FASA's version that I googled. Somewhat unusual for a Klingon design however (either version), but I can see Klingons using this ship, and it's somewhat appealing for its uniqueness in design.

I do like those colours better, although, I'd err more on the olive/grey side than than the brown.

ok, here's my attempt at a more D series colouring on a B'rel. putfile.com/pic.php?pic=1/111290590.jpg&s=x11not sure it's really dark enough, but I think it's a start. ignore the obvious newb issues that are likely evident to the trained eye.

looking good, but you need to add some more color to her here and there...grey alone won't cut it as it looks kinda black & white...in anycase Nice try so far...also you might want to start a new thread on the subject
