what sort of genius is this person.
The fella who made them thinks the Miranda Class is the Avenger Class...

It "was" the Avenger both as a Name as the ship to also the class durring preproduction It is like calling the 1701 refit and "A" versions as Enterprise-class rather than calling it Constitution and the Defiant-class, USS Defiant during preproduction was called Valliant and her class was going to be Valliant-class

Yes, but then they changed their minds and decided on Defiant, so the class is the Defiant class, and the Valiant is just another ship-of-the-line (I know that's not the correct usage of ship-of-the-line but meh). And Enterprise class has on-screen evidence - in STII IIRC the words Enterprise class are visible on a turbolift door at some point. The precedent for Constitution Refit is from the innacurate plans Scott was reading in STVI. I don't see why people are so adamant to preserve the name Avenger - it's a really sh*tty name for a Federation starship, I can't buy into them naming a whole class after such a concept as vengeance. A bit like naming a class the Vendetta class.

Gene Said the Connie refit is a Constitution class then that is what it is same holds true with the TOS Connie...Gene Said it was a Connie, then that is what it is so that will always end that discussion....As for the name Avenger it is not a bad name for a fed ship, but it does hint towards a more millitaristic side of Starfleet

You have to remember that pretty much everything on that site is self-published fan work, or very near to it. None of it (with the possible exception of Sternbach's repackage of Whitefire's Galaxy blueprints, if that's listed on there, I can't remember) has any stamp of officialdom at all (except that Roddenberry is alleged to have signed off on Franz Joseph's original blueprints ). Dissing something like the "Avenger" blueprints for not mentioning a name that didn't even exist for some years after they were published it a bit harsh, guys... ;D

Yeah, i know all about the "Canon vs non-Canon" debate.. However, as a graphic designer and soon-to-be trained-d modeler, I know that I like to have the blueprints in a format where i can have them where I can actually spread them out. Besides, I am doing this for all my fellow modelers out there who merely want their models to be in proper scale. Btw, Ent-A and Ent-B are now complete. If anyone wants them, just drop me a line...these PDF files are kinda big. ;D Semper fi, Carry On

Sorry, although that may have sounded like a shot at you, anthsco (or indeed anyone else in this thread ), it wasn't meant that way, just an attempt at dispensing some general information... and I probably wouldn't even have bothered, but honestly I didn't know what the deal was with most of this stuff when I first saw it, so I'm just trying to clear up some of the confusion that I had to deal with... And I'm certainly not trying to disrespect, or discredit, or otherwise "diss" any of what this dude has spent so much time scanning, or what the people who made the blueprints he's scanned spent so much time drawing in the first place, back (mostly) before computers would have made it so much easier. ;D
